Google Redwood City
While at Iontank, Greg had the opportunity to work on a project for the new Google Redwood City Marketing offices. There were three pieces that Iontank produced for this project.
Chandeliers
We produced 4 chandeliers that were themed with the geography of the Bay Area. The disks at the bottom range in size from 16” - 47” in diameter. The disks are supported by custom machined lenses to add both structure to the printed map element, as well as the effect of clarity to the designs at the viewing angle.
Each chandelier has a different arrangement of down lights. Each have custom designed ring lights to evenly illuminate the map as best as possible. Two of the chandeliers have a down light, which also projects the map pattern onto the floor below it.
Clock
For the same facility, we also produced a double sided clock that has one side in a waiting room, and the other inside a conference room. The clock acts as a large low resolution display, which runs an animation at the top of each hour.
The clock is composed of hickory veneered plywood and black anodized aluminum.
The Glokadots
The Glokadots are also a low resolution display designed for the same facility. Each dot can be controlled on the left and the right side, which allows for full video animation to be run on it.
The Glokadots were designed as a modular panel system and can be extended as needed for the space requirements.
