Google NYC Pier 57 Honeycomb
The Honeycomb is a modular paneling system designed around the ability to integrate with existing theater display technology.
The panel system acts as a low-resolution display that can be driven by external media sources, while also having the form of a unique architectural element.
There are two sides of the Honeycomb. The interior portion is fitted around a traditional large scale display for the theater, while the exterior portion is meant to tie together the experience as guests wait to enter the theater.
The paneling system is primarily made out of a particular light diffusing acrylic, while the face panels are clad in hickory veneer on the theater side. The system outside of the theater has panels that are clad in black anodized aluminum.
